Our Internationals

A number of our members have represented their native countries before or during their membership with our club. Caps are earnt as Glendalough AC runners unless stated otherwise.

In total our members have 11 international caps all in mountain running: 1 as senior level, 4 at development level, and 5 at master’s level. Two caps were achieved with previous clubs and our efforts have yielded one medal so far (a team medal for Graham Bush).

Aoife Joyce (4)

Aoife Joyce (Snowdon 2011)

Represented Ireland at the World Mountain Running Trophy 2007 in Ovronnaz, Switzerland finishing 79th.

Represented Ireland at the Snowdon International Race in 2007, 2009, and 2011 finishing 215th (2nd Irish scorer), 155th (1st Irish scorer), and finally 17th woman in 2011 (2nd Irish scorer).

Aoife’s caps were all achieved while a member of Crusaders AC.

Represented Ireland at the Snowdon International Race in 2013 finishing 27th woman and 2nd Irish scorer.

Catherine’s caps were achieved while a member of Rathfarnham WSAF.

Graham Bushe (3)

Represented Ireland in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill Only race in 2022 in Clonmel finishing 131st and 31st in the M50 category.

Represented Ireland in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill Race in Madeira 2023 finishing 15th in his category (M50) and being the third scorer for the Silver Medal winning Irish team.

He also finished 16th in his category at the Madeira Championship in the Long Up/Down event.

Represented Ireland in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill only race in 2022 in Clonmel finishing 199th and 50th in the M40 category.

Represented Denmark in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill Only race in 2022 in Clonmel finishing 188th and 48th in the M40 category.

Richard Kieran (1)

Represented Ireland in the World Masters Mountain Running Championship Uphill Race in Madeira 2023 finishing 28th in his category (M55) and being the third scorer for the Silver Medal winning Irish team.
